NARR/REF A IS NAVADMIN 36/22 WHICH ANNOUNCES THE ESTABLISHMENT
OF THE SURFACE WARFARE OFFICER (SWO) SENIOR OFFICER RETENTION BONUS
(SORB) FOR ELIGIBLE SWOs. REF B IS ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF THE NAVY
(MANPOWER AND RESERVE AFFAIRS) SURFACE WARFARE OFFICER SENIOR OFFICER
RETENTION BONUS AUTHORIZATION.
RMKS/1. This advisory is being provided in regards to reference A for
announcing the establishment of the Surface Warfare Officer (SWO)
Senior Officer Retention Bonus (SORB) for eligible SWOs. This program
is authorized under section 332, Title 37, U.S. Code.
2. Reference B, establishes the SWO SORB is effective through
29 October 2024 unless otherwise rescinded or superseded.
All applications for the bonus contained within this program will be
submitted to the SWO Assignments Division (PERS-41) for approval,
payment processing and tracking. The SWO community manager is
assigned as the program manager and is delegated the authority to
administer the SWO SORB program according to applicable laws,
Department of Defense directives/instructions and NAVADMIN 36/22.
3. Once SWO SORB Bonus is approved per REF B, bonus request will be
submitted to DFAS-CL via DWOWS for manual posting.  SWO SORB will be
posted within 20 business days and will reflect on Officer's MMPA as a
0803 with corresponding R5 FID, RRB indicator = 4.
